I offer the following range of workshops for nursery and pre-school settings. I am also able to provide bespoke workshops for small groups, educational settings and child/parent related organisations:

A. The science behind your child’s behaviour

This workshop will explore how a child’s brain differs from ours and how this impacts on their ability to manage emotion and stress. It will also discuss how we can interact with our children to support the development of pathways between the higher and lower brain. This shapes the part of the brain responsible for reasoning, self-awareness, impulse control and the regulation of feelings.

B. Supporting security and connection

When our children feel connected to us in a secure and fulfilling way they are better able to regulate their feelings and to cope resiliently with life’s challenges. How can we best support the connection we have with our children? What tools can we implement to repair or strengthen our relationship on a regular basis or during times of need?

C. Boundaries: why they’re important and how to manage them

This workshop will explore why children need clear boundaries and how this contributes to them feeling secure. We will look in depth at how to implement boundaries in a way that reduces conflict and nurtures the parent/child relationship.

D. Following our child’s lead (‘toilet training’, sleep and transitions)

This workshop will explore the importance of trusting in our child’s readiness to engage in different developmental stages. This will include practical examples and ways in which we can prepare and support our children in ways which instil confidence in their abilities.
